MY STORY
Why LeoPiano?
I started LeoPiano to create a modern, accessible way of learning piano. I’m half Japanese, half British, and have taught a wide range of students — from beginners to those preparing for exams. I used to travel to students’ homes, but through experience with online lessons, I realised there’s little difference in how effectively I can teach and support students remotely.
Having worked in schools and seen how difficult it can be to access peripatetic lessons, I wanted to build something flexible and supportive. With LeoPiano, students can submit recordings anytime for personalised feedback — whether they’re preparing for exams or just want another pair of ears.
Beyond one-to-one feedback, I’m passionate about creating a community where pianists can share progress, struggles, and advice. Through a free Discord or WhatsApp group, I hope to connect learners from around the world who care about music, growth, and encouragement.
